The Swiss Federal Court condemns a denier of the Armenian Genocide


PanARMENIAN.Net/ The Swiss Federal Court upheld the verdict to chairman of the Turkish Workers’ Party Dogu Perincek, accused of racial discrimination (article 261 of the Penal code), independent French journalist Jean Eckian told PanARMENIAN.Net.Dogu Perincek had repeatedly asserted in 2005 that the Armenian Genocide is an "international lie". The decision of the Federal Court says that “there is a historical consensus on the fact of the Armenian Genocide. The accused did not furnish any facts to disprove it.”On March 7, 2007, a Swiss district court has found a Turkish politician, Dogu Perincek, guilty of racial discrimination for denying the 1915 Armenian massacre was genocide. The court handed Perincek a 90-day suspended sentence or a corresponding penalty as well as a fine of SFr 3,000 ($2,5 thousand).
